Back porch picking at this lovely vineyard located in Goshen/Warwick. Jim Petrie and I will be playing from 2-5PM
Sunday Songwriter Night at An Beal Bocht is always a great hang. Tonight I am sharing the night with Matt Keating at 9PM. Matt has been a songwriter in NYC for many years and our paths have not crossed until recently, when I saw his duo with Steve Mayone, The Bastards of Fine Arts performing at the Folk Art Museum. http://www.mattkeating.com
“In a career spanning more than 20 years, Matt Keating has established himself as one of America’s great under-the-radar songwriters. Had he emerged five decades back, he might have been a Tin Pan Alley stalwart, turning out intelligent, accessible songwriting with the clockwork genius of Carole King and Gerry Goffin. His work is rife with the clever, incisive tunefulness that marked that era. Keating has long been an astute chronicler of human affairs at their most fragile.” – NPR Music/em>
Matt Keating’s 11th release and newest album, This Perfect Crime is a collection of 12 songs quietly fueled by striking melodies and poetic lyrical turns. Keating has always been known for writing “folk-pop gems so well-crafted they seem effortless–CMJ”, and THIS PERFECT CRIME follows in that tradition.
